A Friendly Message from Your Patient Care Head
Dear Patients and Families,
Hello! I’m your Patient Care Head here at Altor Hospitals in KR Puram, Bengaluru. We know that thinking about hospital bills or how insurance works can sometimes feel a bit confusing or worrying. My team and I are here to take that worry away, so you can focus 100% on getting better.
This page will simply explain how billing works, how your insurance can help, and how we support you every step of the way. We want everything to be clear and easy for you!

Understanding Your Bill: No Surprises, Just Clarity
We believe in being completely open about costs. Here’s what you need to know about your bill at Altor Hospitals:
Every bill you receive from us will be fully itemized. This means it clearly lists every charge, like:
- Your room charges
- Doctor’s fees
- Tests you had (blood tests, X-rays, etc.)
- Medicines given
- Consumables (like bandages, gloves)
- …and so on! You’ll see exactly what you’re paying for.
For planned surgeries or admissions, we can give you an estimate of the cost beforehand. This helps you plan your finances.
f your stay is lengthy, you can ask for interim bills to see your current charges at any time.
You’ll get your complete final bill when it’s time to go home.
If you need to pay directly (for non-covered amounts or if you don’t have cashless insurance), we make it easy. We accept:
- Cash
- UPI (like Google Pay, PhonePe)
- Debit & Credit Cards (Visa, MasterCard, RuPay)
- Net Banking
If anything on your bill isn’t clear, please just ask! Our Billing Department is always ready to explain it simply. Your understanding is important to us.
Your Insurance & Our Cashless Facility: Focus on Healing!
Having health insurance is a great help, and we make it as easy as possible to use it. Altor Hospitals works with many top insurance companies to offer cashless hospitalization. This means, for eligible policies, your insurer pays the hospital directly, not you!

How Cashless Works (It's Simpler Than You Think!)
Tell Us About Your Insurance:
- Planned Visit: Please let our TPA Desk (Insurance Desk) know about your health insurance 3-5 days before your planned admission.
- Emergency: If it’s an emergency, we’ll help you start the process as soon as you arrive.
- What We Do: We’ll help you send your insurance details and doctor’s advice to your insurer for their “pre-authorization” (their approval).

Get Approved, Get Admitted
Once your insurer approves, you can get admitted to Altor Hospitals without paying a large sum upfront for covered treatments. It's a smooth entry!

We Handle the Paperwork
While you focus on getting better, our TPA Desk team quietly works behind the scenes, talking to your insurer and sending them all the necessary documents.

Hassle-Free Discharge
When your doctor says you’re ready to go home, we get the final approval from your insurer. For covered services, the bill is settled directly by them. You only pay for anything your policy doesn't cover (like deductibles or non-medical items).
Important Things to Remember About Insurance:
- Your Policy Matters: Your insurance coverage depends on your specific policy. This includes your sum insured (total amount covered), exclusions (what’s not covered), and deductibles (an amount you might need to pay first).
- What Insurance Might NOT Cover: Please know that some items are typically not covered by insurance. These are often non-medical items like:
- Specific personal care items (toiletries)
- Certain consumables (ask our billing team for details)
- Special food requests outside the standard hospital diet
- These small charges will need to be paid by you at discharge. Our team will help you identify them.
- Claim Rejection/Partial Approval: In rare cases, an insurer might reject or only partly approve a claim. If this happens, you would need to pay the remaining amount. We’ll explain everything clearly if this occurs.
